Do food grade silicone utensils contain plasticizers?

Food grade silicone utensils does not contain plasticizers, provided it meets relevant safety standards such as FDA and LFGB certification. Plasticizers (such as phthalates) are mainly used to plasticize hard plastics such as polyvinyl chloride (PVC), while silicone (siloxane polymer) itself has excellent flexibility and high temperature resistance, and can meet usage requirements without adding plasticizers. However, it should be noted that if the product does not pass strict certification or uses inferior recycled silicone, there may be a risk of illegal addition. Therefore, it is recommended to choose products from reputable brands with clear certification labels (such as "silicone for food contact"), and avoid low-priced, unqualified small workshop products to ensure material safety.
